You mean you havent found some service that *pays you* for the calls ?
I see you are happy for your friends to call you back, yet you moan at
my use of an 0870 regardless of the fact it is to allow a client to
leave a brief message, so I can call them back. It seemed quite
a reasonable way for me to approach contact, without needing a
client to ring me on some follow me number (37.5p peak) or
even a standard mobile number...
Plenty of my contacts use PAYG mobiles rather than having monthly
contracts, so dont have included minutes. For quite a few, the
mobile is primarily used for them to make emergency calls, and they
would routinely use a landline for their call. Some of them (working
from home) use TalkTalk, so can speak to one another or me for free,
and would most likely be calling me because of problems with their
IT kit, so VoIP would not necessarily be working anyway! Peter.
(Yes, some of them do use it, firms giving free off-peak calls to
UK geographic numbers are not uncommon, as you should know, and now
even ISPs have been adding VoIP or indirect access deals, too.) PGM.
