Can Anyone remember the telephone service that was provided in certain areas
of the country which was operated like a microwave link from your house to a
local transmitter/ reciever?

they came and installed a small dish like a dinner plate on your chimney and
you had a small powered box inside the house with your phone plugged into
it.

I think the company went bankrupt after a few years.
