 Post subject: 2 numbers on 1 BT line

is it possible to have 2 phone numbers on one BT landline and have them with
different ring tones, like what happens with BT call sign ?

I dont mean 0845 etc. just normal 01 or 02 numbers

just been told shes with NTL not BT (fikin women !!), so, same question
again but for an NTL line

As far as I know ntl do not offer a service like BTs call Sign.

NO, they prefer you to have two phones, which I guess is not what you want.
Probably something like this:-

If really want two different numbers, and have broadband, then why not
go for a voip set up. Itll work oput cheaper than calls via NTL - no
6p connection charge for a start.
