Hi I got a Santa from Lapland phone call. Would pressing 9 cost
anything(other than my time)? Quite fancy winding them up if I get another
one. It will help pass the time while I sit here with a broken leg.
Thanks Ron

No it wont cost you anything at all. You will probably get connected to a
sales person trying to sell you a holiday or something similar. -

Thats what I said, in a somewhat sarcastic way. Perhaps I should have
been more clear. Apologies for any confusion.

Um all that says is that the premium rate number wont cost you
hundreds.

It could still connect you to a standard premium rate number at Ł1.50
a minute

I know they are supposed to warn you that you are being connected to
such a number. It doesnt mean that they do.

oops forget my earlier reply - missed a bit of the article

I would guess if you do press 9 youll either get through to a sales
person (more likely in Florida than Lapland) or to a recorded message
asking you to phone a probably (normal) premium rate number, with or
without a warning of its cost

My call said Id won a holiday to Disney World AND a Bahamas cruise. I
ignored it.
