I wonder if anyone could help me out, I have just bought a small pabx
system for home. but I cant get the caller display working.

I have NTL (Huddersfield) coming into my house, and caller display
works fine when plugged directly into the o/s line.

Unfortunately the phone system is not a known version and it is known
only as 406.

The phone system is supposed to transfer the ID information to the
phone extensions.

The instructions says: FSK/DTMF compatible Caller ID function is
successfully equipped on the system, (For some areas the Caller ID is
invalid due to the Telecom signal of the area.)

I would be grateful if someone could shed some light.

It sounds like the PABX supports Bellcore caller ID. My understanding is
that ntl: use Bellcore in some areas and BT CDS in others.

If your ntl: line uses CDS, then I suspect caller ID isnt going to work
with this PABX. When does the caller ID appear - before the first ring
(typical of CDS) or after the first ring (typical of Bellcore)?
