Anyone confirm the rumour that BT Privacy at Home is about to become a Ł5
PER MONTH charge for the Caller Display part of the service?

Thanks

A propos Privacy at Home, I registered when moving house last year, got the
caller display etc. On trying to report a junk call last week (from
Portsmouth Hospitals wanting support for foundation status - what a way to
spend my money!) TPS told me I wasnt registered. If i were a conspiracy
theorist Id say that was BT having its cake and eating it.

I had registered with TPS years ago, but recently I got calls from
an insurance company. I followed the calls up with the company, who
initially claimed that I must have a business relationship with one
of the group companies. However, the guy then phoned me back to say
that he had followed this up and that - he had checked - I was not
registered on the TPS.

I contacted the TPS and they initially confirmed that I wasnt
registered. They then said that I had been removed from the database
last November. They were unable to give any reason for this.

Obviously, Ive re-registered.

regards, Ian

12. How can I check to see if I am registered with the TPS?

If you are unsure whether you are already registered with the TPS, you
can dial the TPS registration line on 0845 070 0707 and select option
2.

Rings NU . 8-((

Its experiences like this that just serve to confirm that TPS really
has no taste for stopping nuisance calls.

Isnt it about time that they provided a geographic - or even freefone -
number?
