For the 2nd time in a week I find myself without a dialling tone,
thank you Blackpool exchange, broadband ok though! BT give a free
divert service. Is it the divert that is free or the calls made to the
diverted number? Ive diverted to a mobile and wondering what and who
pays the higher prices?
Many thanks.

In my not-infrequent experience of this, BT do charge
neither for the fact that they have diverted calls to your
mobile nor for the diverted leg of the call.

So it costs you nothing, and the caller only pays what they
would pay anyway to phone your BT number.

Its a free service, even to a mobile.
A couple of things though, once your line is fixed, turn the divert off
with #21# and remind them to remove the service from your line.
Also check your next bill carefully for call diversion charges and
play merry hell if there are any. (Happend to me, twice).
