I got a letter today saying they are putting up 0870 to 10p and 0845 to 6p

That means that a 10 minute call to an 0845 during the day has increased
from 20p to 60p.

My doctors surgery uses an 0845 number as do many other businesses I need
to phone.
I can afford the increase, but I am sure there are people who cant.

Strange, I thought they were moving to 0844 numbers, and they charge
around 4p per min, which is lower than the 0870 numbers they used to
have. I doubt though you will ever have a 10 minute call with sky to
sort things out. I have spent over 4 hours on the phone sorting out a
broadband problem, it took just under 2 months and tons of emails and
calls.

Move to Primus Saver 2 and you get w/e and evening calls for no fee
like Sky, but your 0845/0870 will be cheaper. I have just done that.

What they have done is increase the 0845 charge from 0.5p evening to
6p which is an increase of 1,100% and 0870 from 1.5p in the evening to
10p which is an increase of 560%. Daytime rates are up as well 0870 up
by 66% and 0845 up by 200%.

Hopefully you and other were sensible and didnt move line rental away from
BT and only have your calls going through Sky Talk.

If you were sensible then you can place calls back over BT by dialling 1280
in front of the number you wish to call.

If you werent sensible and have moved your line rental over to Sky, why
didnt you listen to all of us telling people dont move line rental away
from BT.

If calls only are going through Sky Talk then dump them and switch to Primus
Saver 2 and opt for Penny Mobile too, however DONT switch line rental away
from BT even if Primus make it sound like a good idea to.

I dont think sky did full LLU unbundling, of the lines as well, your
line always remained BTs and you paid line rental to them, The only
big company that does that is tiscali, I believe.
