Hi:

I have anonymous caller reject (or whatever its called) on BT. Is there
a way of turning it on and off from my handset: eg, by sending a code?

I tried to ask on BTs helpline, but after pushing buttons and hanging
on for 10 minutes I gave up.

Yes... *ACR# for on and #ACR# for off - not that I use it any more as I
have other means to deal with the problem.

Go on, do tell. What other means? And can you bar incoming international
calls? Im fed up with the overseas call centres calling me.

Remember however if you block International calls you could be blocking
the many people in the UK who use low cost call providers like Call 18185 or
Call 1899. As virtually all my friends and relatives use Call 18185 or Call
1899 when I was on BT if I was to block all International calls, I would be
blocking friends and family too.

I actually never answer international calls. Im sure that friends and
family would have told me somehow (email, postcard?) that they couldnt
get through. But thanks for the tip.

Howvwer, it remains that I havent found a way of blocking incoming
international calls. Can it be done?

Usually calls from call centres abroad are presented as Number
unavailable rather than Number Withheld. These calls cannot be
blocked - as far as I know.
