Does anyone know where I can get a splitter that plugs into an RJ45
socket and has two BT sockets at the other end.

I want to use an RJ45 port for 2 phone lines.

You mean like this
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo940&DOY'm2
but with two BT sockets rather than one ?
Could you use another twin socket adaptor with this ?

Sorry I was not clear.

There are adapters that split the 4 pairs in a Cat5 cable to 2 x 2 pairs
so that the structured wiring can be used for two telephone lines.

You put this adapter at both ends - one end has two phones plugged in
while the patch-panel end connects to two extension lines from the PBX.

Like this?

<http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo423&criteria=rj45&doy=3m3>

Youd have to make sure that, at the patch panel end you used blue/blue
& white for one phone &, say green/green & white for the other.....and
at the socket end, youd need to modify the 2nd connection to come from
the greens.

These adapters have all 8 pins on the plug wired to all 8 on each
socket.

Thanks, but not quite - as you say all 8 pins are doubled. I want one
that splits the 4 pairs to 2 in one socket and the other 2 in the other.

Yes that looks more like it. Thank you.

Ideally the adapter should have BT rather than RJ11 sockets. They do
exist as I have seen them before but cant find them again.
