I have been using Phonecheap to dial mobiles from landline (Virgin) -
I forget which number exactly but its 0844 ...777 - their preamble
says the cost is 7p per minute, but from the last couple of months
itemised bills all calls are at least 12p!

1) Is this a swizz?

2) Can you suggest other cheap numbers for dialing UK mobiles?

As another poster has suggested Niftylist, but again be aware that Virgin
Media will more than likely charge you more than the published price.

Another option to look at is VoIP, most of the best prices can be found
within http://backsla.sh/betamax - and if youre prepared to pay
Ł1.50/month Tesco Internet Phone are 7.5p/min (apart from Three) and
per-second billing with a 30 second minimum charge.
