I ordered Caller Display (i.e. payable service) a few weeks back, as I was
told that they no longer did the free service.
Tried about a week ago to order it through the BT website, and still no sign
of the free version showing on my account (Caller Display works fine though)
So I spoke to a BT offshore drone, and BT offshored drones manager this
evening. They have put through a new order which should go through after
28 days - I did double check that they didnt mean within 28 days.
I have been told at various points in the conversation that there are
technical issues with this service or that it is available but now only
chargeable or even it is no longer available and also (blatant lie this
one) there are no BT customers currently getting Privacy at Home free of
charge...
I did also get the drones manager to agree it was something to do with my
line type - I suspect I am WLR3, as whenever I call BT, they ask if it is a
new account and then say they have to pass me on to someone else...
Dont know if an insider can enlighten us all as to what all this means, but
I suspect it is related to your problem, somehow... I think there are
probably more commercial issues than technical issues with this one
