Because I use an Orchid V4 Dialler on the DECT base station that inserts the
18185 prefix for me instead of having to dial it every time so I need to
override it (actually, the Orchid is programmed for different carriers at
different times of day depending on which route is cheapest).
I do know, however that its not the Orchid going faulty because we have a
corded phone just plugged straight into a socket upstairs and when I
manually dial the 18185 from that, I still get the recorded message.
